The Taj Mahal Historical Place In India

The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is an example of beautiful beauty. Mughal ruler Shah Jahan built it in memory of his wife, Mumtaz. When you see your head raised in this dome, you will not feel less than a mirror. As you move away from it, it attracts you. This is the reason that this building has been included in the seven wonders of the world. Due to grandeur, Tajam Halle became the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. At the same time, it has been declared as a gem of Islamic art of India.

Only dome ready in 15 years:-

More than 20 thousand laborers were planted to build this magnificent Taj Mahal spread over 42 acres and completed in 22 years (1631 – 1653) by Taj Mahal. Its work was completed in several phases. It took only 15 years to complete the dome, and the remaining work was completed in the remaining seven years. During this, work was done with 1000 elephants, which used to carry marble stones from one place to another.

Artisans were called from abroad:-

To make this, skilled craftsmen from abroad were called. Of them, 37 skilled artisans were gathered, under whose supervision nearly twenty thousand workers worked. Craftsman Ustad Ahmad Lahauri was the head of its construction work. Lahori was a Persian, and he was called from Iran. Apart from this, artisans from Central Asia were invited to design the stone. Taj Mahal is a symbol of Persian, Turk, Indian and Islamic architecture.

Three colors change Taj Mahal:-

Twenty-eight types of stones were used in this construction. These stones were imported from Rajasthan, besides many countries like Baghdad, Afghanistan, Tibet, Egypt, Russia, Iran. It is fantastic for these stones that the Taj Mahal is seen in the morning in pink, in the day, white and full moon night is golden.

Timber building:-

You will be surprised to know that the Taj Mahal building has been built on a block of wood. This wood needs moisture. It gets stronger as it gains moisture. This is the reason that the Taj Mahal was built on the banks of river Yamuna. Four towers have been built around it. These minarets balance the Taj Mahal. These minarets have been tilted slightly towards the outside so that these minarets fall on the tomb without falling down on the tomb.

Other interesting things:-

  • All the fountains in the Taj Mahal work together, and there is a tank under them. After filling the tank, these fountains leave the water once the pressure is created.
  • Taj Mahal is taller than Qutub Minar by 5 meters.
  • With Taj Mahal, the first selfie named George Harrison took the fee through the lens.
  • Taj Mahal is the most visited building in the world. About 12,000 tourists come to see it every day.
  • The tomb of Biwi made in Aurangabad was made from a copy of the Taj Mahal. It is also called Mini Taj Mahal.
